70 Years of Popular Songs

Simon Ward presents Worship at Home on Premier Christian Radio, church at home each Sunday morning for Britain’s largest congregation. Formerly Chief Operating Officer of the British Fashion Council, responsible for running London Fashion Week for 25 years, Simon is a worship leader, songwriter and, most importantly, husband, dad and proud grandpa.

Simon shares: ‘There’s nothing more encouraging than a good singalong and, as a singer and worship leader, when I was invited to come along and share some old time songs with the seniors group at my home church, I was happy to ‘give it a whirl’! Little did I realise the hugely enthusiastic response that would follow, including those with dementia and in wheelchairs suddenly lighting up and singing along at the top of their voices. At Holy Trinity Claygate, I was also asked to share something of my story from a career in the world of fashion and say a little about our true identity as children of God, which was a huge privilege. Then to give free signed copies of my book ’The Character of Fashion – if God was boss, how would he run this industry’ and chat to guests was a perfect way to round off my visit.’

He is a brilliant singer, musician, and communicator. The mix of familiar old songs and hymns, interspersed with hilarious snippets from Simon, alongside his testimony too, all went down a treat, everyone LOVED it! I can highly recommend Simon, this is a wonderful event for church folk to bring friends along to, extremely engaging, fun, and evangelistic too.’
