For Faith in Later Life as we serve the church and champion faith in later life across the UK - bringing wisdom, helpful resources, and a voice for older people to our nation.
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for those who you have called to reach, disciple, and empower older people in our churches. We pray especially for church leaders, seniors workers, and those who work with older people in our community.
Fill them with fresh vision, renewed strength, creative ideas, and deep joy in serving you. Guard their hearts from weariness and discouragement. Give them wisdom in their plans and decisions, godly team members, and the resources they need to serve you in this way. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Winter can feel long, cold, and quiet for many older people. We pray:
That they would sense the nearness of Jesus each day and know they are deeply loved by Him.
For God to bring friends, neighbours, or church members to reach out with warmth and companionship.
That they would be encouraged about the year ahead and trust God’s plans for their life.
That they would find ways to use their gifts and experience to bless others, even from home.
For God to guard their hearts from loneliness turning into despair, filling them instead with His peace.
Please join us in praying for churches considering how to best welcome, engage and love people living with dementia. We pray for:
Understanding and wisdom of the importance of being dementia friendly
Inspiration and practical ideas of how to begin in their given context
Others to draw alongside them to help form a supportive team
Understanding and willingness in the wider church as new ways are implemented
Their approaches to truly help people living with dementia to feel welcome, included and purposeful.
