Please join us for this session on Monday 27th of April at 1.30pm (only) for this session led by Professor Keith Brown — a Christian, national expert in later-life care, and a government adviser.
Keith will share down-to-earth guidance to help you offer excellent pastoral care to older people in your church and support their families well too. We’ll cover practical topics like lasting powers of attorney and advance decisions to refuse treatment (including national guidance Keith has written), protecting older people from scams and fraud, and what to do when someone may need domestic support or residential care. He’ll also help us think about caring for ourselves as pastoral carers - healthy boundaries, wise limits, and sustainable ministry.

Professor Keith Brown MBE is a national expert and government advisor on care of older people and is also a Christian. Keith founded the Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work and Professional Practice. He is Chair of the Safeguarding Adults National Network and leads national research into financial fraud and scams with the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and the National Scams Team. He has published widely on mental capacity, serves on the National Mental Capacity Leadership Forum and joint fraud taskforce,
